Why work in Bord na Móna?
Here in Bord na Móna, we’ve set out objectives for our company – a roadmap for the next 15-20 years, which will transform each of our businesses, make us one of the largest renewable energy companies in Ireland and a leading provider of sustainable products and services both at home and internationally.
We have started on this journey with our vision ‘A new contract with Nature’, which will lead to the transformation of the Group over the next two decades and make Bord na Móna a highly sustainable organisation – both environmentally and financially.
At the heart of this transformation will be our people. In conjunction with the launch of Bord na Móna Annual Report 2008-2009, CEO Gabriel D’Arcy announced on, 20 July 2009, the creation of 300 new green jobs across Ireland. This announcement came on the back of the publication of strong financial figures for the past year and the announcement of ambitious sustainability targets for the company over the next five years.
The jobs will be created in green energy, resource recovery and environmental solutions using Bord na Móna’s innovative green technologies.
