The peat briquette fire has been at the heart of Irish homes for decades. Our ups, our downs, our hopes and joys have all been played out before the comforting warmth of its merry flames.
Last Winter, we asked our Twitter and Facebook followers to share their fireside tales using the hashtag #ShortStoryLongNight. In a mere 140 characters, we wanted them to tell us what they love most about their time spent by the fire, about their families, their romances, their childhood memories.
Of the 800 stories submitted, we’ve whittled them down to 140 or so of our favourites, and put them together in this gorgeous book, available for sale now in Easons stores and right here.
Even better, wherever you buy Short Stories for a Long Night, you’ll know that at least €4 from the sale of each book will go directly to Focus Ireland who are working very hard this Winter, and always, to keep men, women and children safe and warm.
